I have two story submissions to Circlet Press that are pending!

Remember this story that I wrote two years ago and never found a home for? I've submitted it for the brilliantly named Fantastic Beasts and Where to F*** Them!

And just under the wire I got a story in for Dressed In Black: Erotic Tales of Edgar Allan Poe! I've loved his stories and poetry since I was little! Absolute must to at least try for that one. Alas, I've already used raven-shifter sex in "Carrion, My Wayward Son"!

I submitted "The Limbo of Lunary Souls," which is a f/f xeno early-SF-style prose re-imagining of the poem "Ulalume." But with a happy ending, which is pretty subversive for Poe. (No Bury Your Gays here! Well, not permanently anyway. Maybe a little prematurely. It is a riff on Poe after all.)

comments

I’m over the moon to report that I’ve sold another story to this famous SFF erotica press!

This one is for their upcoming “Golden Age Erotica” collection - stories that pay homage to the classic styles of the Weird-Tales-type pulps of the early 20th century.

My story is “Burning Skies,” a lesbian occult adventure story that pays homage to H.P. Lovecraft’s “Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath”/Silver Key cycle, and E. Hoffmann Price’s stories of Pierre D’Artois, Occult Detective, and I think there’s a little bit of stylistic influence from Clark Ashton Smith in there too (and also from the post-Bauhaus band Tones On Tail).

This story can’t be posted anywhere before publication, but here’s a teaser:

comments

Coming September 21 from Circlet Press, available at various retailers here!

From the intro: "Erotic stories in the worlds of Jules Verne. Verne's books feature daring, intelligent men facing danger and overcoming obstacles in the name of scientific discovery. Journey to the Center of Desire tells the stories of people who love the adventurers: the ones left behind, or carried helplessly along, or are otherwise affected by these harebrained schemes. In "Lunacy" by Jean Roberta, based on From the Earth to the Moon, two brave and daring women struggling in a man's world come up with a brilliant--and ridiculous--idea to win their freedom and future life together. Luckily for them, great men can still be made into fools by beautiful women with a plan. In Annabeth Leong's "Journey to the Disappearing Sea," Axel, from Journey to the Center of the Earth, is forced to realize that his precious porcelain doll of a fiancée has her own hopes and dreams and strengths and they will not be hidden any more. In Corey Reid's "The Unresolved Wager," (based on Around the World in Eighty Days) Phileas Fogg's friends Aouda and Passepartout make a bet to see who can teach the man they both love that living well requires paying attention to your friends... and having lots of orgasms. In "Poulp Friction" by Evadare Volney, we learn how deep the friendship between M. Aronnax and his loyal Conseil (of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea) actually is, and that Captain Nemo's rebellious nature and technological acumen extended to much more personal matters than we were led to believe.

Includes: Lunacy by Jean Roberta, Journey to the Disappearing Sea by Annabeth Leong, The Unresolved Wager by Corey Reid, Poulp Friction by Evadare Volney

I am SO EXCITED!!! My first story in a Circlet anthology - I have loved this LGBTQ-friendly, kink-friendly, SF/F-erotica press since the early 90s when nobody else was doing it. It's a huge honor. The other stories are fantastic!

comments

I've completed a draft that's going to become my solo debut. Currently now looking for a beta-reader and cover artist.

It's a bisexual shifter story, both m/m and m/f, with a menage/exhibitionism scene, and an Appalachian folkloric feel. It's about 7,000 words and I'm planning for it to be the first in a series. I have no idea if this will sell, but I'm about to find out.

And yes, it is called "Carrion, My Wayward Son." I'm not sorry.

Here is an excerpt:

( the point of no return )

Watch this space, and I'll let you know when the whole thing is available.

comments

I'm a writer of erotica in the speculative-fiction/magical-realism/SF/paranormal realm. Brand-spanking-new to epublishing original fiction, but with many years of experience in writing smut, as all my fanfiction friends know.

You can find my first original publication, "Tempestuous" (historical fantasy, sex magick, F/F) in New Smut Project's anthology of character-driven erotica, Heart, Body, Soul.

Which just got a REVIEW on Goodreads! Some wonderful person liveblogged her reading of all 400+ pages of it.

Huge thanks to everyone who's bought this anthology and its sibling volume Between the Shores. They're selling really well! Please consider leaving a review or a rating, if you're so inclined,

Current WIP, nearly finished: a shifter story involving scavenger birds. Male protagonist, M/F and M/M, with group sex.

Next up on the plate: another shifter story, female protagonist with voyeurism and an orgy scene, inspired by the Appalachian legend of the Wampus cat. You can count on me to <strike>steal from</strike> draw on folklore a great deal.
